Are you sick? Sick and tired of the status quo? Have you been thinking that there must be something more? Is your life full but not fulfilling? Is there a haunting hollowness inside?
Our pursuit of personal fulfillment and significance goes far beyond what Silicon Valley has to offer. When God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone” – He meant it! He said that He would make a “helper” suitable for Adam. Eve was a perfect fit and thus Adam and Ever were both fulfilled? Fulfilled in their relationship with God and one another! Disobedience ruined it all at every level.
When Jesus told His disciples that He was going to go away, their hearts were troubled. So, He made some promises to them. One of them was that it was better for Him to go away because if He didn’t, “The Helper” would not come! Did you notice the difference between “a helper” for Adam and “The Helper” promised to Jesus’ disciples?
When Mary reflected on God’s drafting of her to be the mother of the Messiah, she concluded that “He has filled the hungry with good things.” Jesus promised that He would fill His followers not only with good things but with a Person! We begin a new series this Sunday on, “The person and work of the Holy Spirit!” I encourage you to read John 14 and 16. My title is, “The Mystery of Supernatural Living. See you Sunday Lord willing!
