I Am My Beloved, And He Is Mine

Dearly Beloved,

Why do you text, tweet, call, write an email or post a letter? Most of us have a “specific intended purpose” in our heads as well as something on our hearts! Our current series is called, “Beloved” from the book of Ephesians. And here are three questions for you:

  • Why did Paul write this letter to the church at Ephesus?
  • How was his intended purpose to be accomplished?
  • What difference did he want it to make in the lives of the Christ followers in the church?

Unless you know Ephesians like the back of your hand or have googled it recently, then this is what you must do – read it, study it, meditate on it and then I think you can provide wise answers to the 3 questions above!

This Sunday we will examine Eph. 2:11-16. Perhaps the rest of your week is full and since this is last minute you may not have the time to do what I mentioned in the paragraph above. But would you prayerfully read Eph. 2:11-16 out loud at least a couple of times? We prepare for vacations, and it is good to prepare our hearts for worshipping together. What a blessing it has been to be together indoors and outdoors.

I think what I share will encourage you no matter the state of your mind and heart. Perhaps it could be life changing! Here is my title, “I Am My Beloved, And He Is Mine! That is taken from the Song of Solomon and remember, His banner over His bride is love! The word beloved is mentioned 67 times in the OT, and 27 of them are found in Solomon’s Song!  Perhaps the Bridegroom loves His bride?

We will continue to meet in-person for worship indoors and outdoors at our blended service on Sunday, July 4 at 10:45am. You can also watch the service live-streamed on our youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/valleychurchca.

Predestined according to the kind intention of His will,
Glen
