Dear sojourners,
Life is full of questions! Some are trivial, some essential and some indispensable! How would you answer this question? What kind of people go to “heaven” if indeed such a place exists? A common answer is, “good people go to heaven.” The logic flows something like this: There is a good God who lives in a good place called heaven and it is reserved for good people. This good God goes by many names depending on which religion you choose. Almost all major religions try to provide a legitimate road to God, therefore, heaven. The criterion for getting into heaven for most religions is to be good. Thus, men and women must do certain things and not do certain things, to assure themselves a spot in this place called heaven.
Does that make sense? However, how does one really know beyond a shadow of doubt that heaven is one’s eternal destination?
Here is a personal question! Where will you be 1 second after your last heart beat? I think it was Woody Allen who said something like this, “I will find out if there is life after death when I die?” Don’t you think that is a little late? In our new series from the book of Galatians called, “Freedom – The Liberating Grace of God,” the author Paul asserts that the “Gospel of Jesus Christ” is man’s only escape from the law of sin and death. But friends experiencing the “new birth and forgiveness of sins” is just the beginning our journey with our Savior.
I hope you will join us every Sunday and that you will, “Grow in Grace and Knowledge of our Lord Jesus.”
For Jesus’ sake,
Glen
