Hello friends!
If you are like me, you probably don’t go too far through the day without having some kind of a conflict. It may be minor or major; maybe it’s your fault and maybe it isn’t, but either way, you end up at odds with another person. The dictionary describes conflict as “to be incompatible or at variance”. Synonyms are: clash, dispute, quarrel, squabble, disagreement, difference of opinion. Have you been there recently? How did you respond?
Like we’ve seen so far throughout the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew chapters 5 through 7, Jesus calls us to live our lives according to values that are 180 degrees different from the rest of the world. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (NIV.) This Sunday we’ll look at practical steps for Biblical conflict resolution, even in cases of injustice and outright persecution.
Let me also remind you of our “Expert Witness” Dr. Hugh Ross coming to Valley Church tonight. He’ll be speaking on the origins of matter and the universe at 7 pm in our worship center with refreshments afterward. This event is free and a great opportunity to invite your friends.
In Christ,
Kurt
