Dear Saints,
Is it possible for a saint to be deceived? A former Pharisee by the name of Paul who knew God’s law backwards and forwards thought so:
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. Let us not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.” Gal. 6:7-10
Paul would have never written “do not be deceived” if it were not possible. Deception, duplicity, lies, half-truths, trickery, abound and Satan preys on the weak. We need not give in to the lusts of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. We can sow to the Spirit and then expect a harvest of righteousness if we do not give up!
Our Father loves to bless His children. I would encourage you to read Psalm 103 before Sunday and then reflect on the blessings that Joseph reaped because of his faithfulness to His God. He went from the pit to the prison, and then in God’s timing to the pinnacle of power. Why? Because he was not deceived and did not give in to ungodly temptations.
Trusting the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph,
