So Many Good Works! (And Could You Please Bring Clothing Hangers on Sunday?)

Hey Family,

So many good works to share about! (Before I forget, please don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday.) You’ve heard about our new Clothing Closet in partnership with CityTeam in the Neighborhood. The Mingles are helping out! They worked together last week to hang up clothes and put them on the racks. Check this out.

This is from Joanna Pau: What a great opportunity for Mingles to learn independent living skills and vocational training while at the same time learning to serve too.” We praise God for Joanna’s vision and drive!

(By the way, if you can, PLEASE BRING HANGERS for our Clothing Closet. Just leave them on the Clothing Closet table on the patio. You can bring old ones from your closet or grab a pack from Target.)

Oh, how about this? Ralph Byrd and his team finished the picnic tables project last week. They put together 84 tables! Here’s a message from one of the administrators of the Sunnyvale School District: “Thank you again [Ralph] for all your work on the SDD tables! . . . The help that you and your team gave was unbelievable and our campuses are so excited to have the new tables!

So many men, women and children from our church tore open boxes, heaved heavy parts, and cranked away on wrenches. Here are some of our brothers and sisters who served the Lord and our local community: Jamie A., Johanna B., Leslie G., Martin G., Pat J., Martin L., Iris N., Joe P., Norm S., Anna S., Cary S., Grace S., Matthew S., Emily T., Will T., Luke T., Daisy T., Amy T., and Norman Y. I know that I’m forgetting some who helped, but the LORD knows.

I can’t resist sharing a picture of our sister Gail Hugger who went with Elena Jones (our Foster the City leader) and a foster mom and her kids to the pumpkin patch for a fun outing. As you know, we are COMMITTED to supporting foster parents and kids (James 1:27).

This Sunday we’ll be back in the Gospel of Luke for our series on the Parables. We’re looking forward to seeing you.

OK, one last thing. Jamie Allen and Robert Wlaschin are working at Unit 39 at Grace Village this Saturday. They have people signed up to help but can use a few more. If you’re interested, please email me at darrens@valleychurch.org and I’ll get you in touch with Jamie and Robert ASAP.

Let’s keep abounding in good works! I know you’re with me.

Darren

P.S. Do you have an idea for a local outreach project? Are you nervous about LEADING something? Don’t be! We’ll coach you (pastors . . . equip the saints for the work of ministry — Eph 4:12). We’ll help you to:

1.  Discern whether the timing and project is right for Valley currently.
2.  Cast a vision for your outreach project.
3.  Create a group on our database so you can communicate.
4.  Get info in the bulletin and on the web.
5.  Reserve space on the patio.
6.  Trust God to work.
