Show and Tell

Remember “Show and Tell” from elementary school? Can you remember any funny or cringy experiences doing that? Imagine standing up in front of your first-grade classroom and talking about the concept of a small, high energy, short haired animal that can, and often does, fit into a purse. If someone had never seen a Chihuahua before, they might be confused. Or imagine just showing off your pet, but not saying anything about it and why you love being a dog owner?

By putting “showing” and “telling” together, you have a much better opportunity to convey an accurate understanding of whatever subject you are talking about. Jesus shows the crowds who He is. They all can tell who He is, even if they don’t quite understand it. And the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus in the following week make it crystal clear that He was telling the truth! All four Gospel books tell the story of the “Triumphal Entry,” but we’ll focus on Matt. 21:1-11 if you want to read ahead.

See you on Sunday! We’re going to be blessed to hear our children sing about what it means to show the reality of Christ in our hearts through our words and actions.

In Christ,
Kurt

P.S. Who are you showing Jesus to in preparation of inviting them to Easter?
