Michael is a true local having grown up in West San Jose near the Cupertino border. He attended local schools, including De Anza, before transferring to UC Santa Barbara. Not only did he graduate with a computer science degree from UCSB, more importantly that is where he met his lovely wife, Lauren, when they were both seniors. They have been involved as youth workers during most of their married life including serving as short term missionary youth workers for 16 months in Aberdeen, Scotland. Michael and Lauren have two grown daughters and have been attending Valley Church since 2002. Michael is a private pilot and enjoys flying. He also spends time fixing things around the house as well as various outdoor activities.
