Dear Friends,
“Contents under pressure. Handle with care” – Have you ever felt like that warning label applies to YOU? For the last five weeks we’ve been talking about living under the pressures of being afflicted, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down. We’ve learned that through our deep faith, we can trust God and His promises. This week we get to see the ultimate outcome – “eternal glory”!
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Cor 4:16-18
This Sunday I’m excited to introduce you to my friend Steve Dang. He has life experiences that give him a unique and powerful perspective on what it means to “…not lose heart…” in the face of overwhelming challenges. He is a long time Bay area pastor serving as Campus Pastor and Director of Alumni at Valley Christian High School in San Jose. You can watch a short KRON 4 news story on Steve here. He’s going to speak at Valley Church this Sunday on “Promises Under Pressure” from 2 Cor. 4:16-18. I know you’ll be blessed to hear him.
Easter is just a little over two weeks away. I hope you are praying for people you can invite to Good Friday at 7 pm, our traditional service at 9 am, or our contemporary service at 10:45 am.
In Christ,
Kurt
