Dear Valley Family,
Do you remember who gave you your name? Your parents, or your grandparents? Do you know the meaning of your name? Are you living up to your name? I believe that you can answer all these questions easily. My next question is, what is the name of our God?
In Exodus Chapter 3, Moses asked God what he should tell the Israelites if they asked him, “What is the name of your God who sent you here?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”. (NIV).
In Judges Chapter 13, when Manoah (Samson’s father) inquired of the name of the Angel of the Lord who appeared to him, the Angel replied, “Why do you ask my name? It is beyond your understanding.” (NIV).
Below are some of God’s names:
Jehovah Jireh – The Lord my provider
Jehovah Rahpa – The God that heals
Jehovah Makkeh – The Lord who molds me
Jehovah-Nissi – The Lord is our banner, mighty warrior, victory
And more….
Yes, our Lord has so many names because there is no SINGLE name that can describe him fully and there is no name to limit the unlimited God, who lives forever and whose glory is forever. But how can we call on God without knowing His name? Praise God who gave us his only Son Jesus, who is the perfect image of God. “No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.” (John 1:18). It is a wonderful grace for us to know the name of Jesus. The more we know Jesus, the more we understand the grace that God prepared for us. His abundant grace has sustained all the saints through valleys and peaks of their spiritual journey.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday to worship our Lord together.
In Him!

P.S. We have more than 160 kids joining our VBS this week. They are having tons of fun on our campus and knowing Jesus more in their hearts. Let’s continuously pray for all our volunteers to have strength and wisdom from God to bless all the kids.
