Dear friends,
What would life be without Christmas? What would your life be like without Christmas? Some of you are probably thinking, “It would a whole lot less hectic Glen!” True, but then again:
- No Christmas vacation
- No family traditions or memories
- No nativity scenes
- No gifts
- No carols in the malls
- No churches
- No good news
- No revelation of the generosity of God
- No Good Friday
- No Easter
- No celebration
We would all be without hope and without God in this world. We would all still be “dead in our trespasses and sins.” For sure the worst thing that could happen to you and me would be to “die in and with our sins!” I am so glad I don’t have to “carry them” around with me! I doubt there would be enough semi-trailers around to haul them away! May we always cherish the gift of “forgiveness.”
Many people think that gift giving at Christmas was started by the Wise Men when they brought gifts to the baby Jesus. But, God planned it all out before the world was created, “The Lamb slain before the foundation of the world.” In Acts 15:11, the Bible says,
“We are saved because the Master Jesus amazingly and out of sheer generosity moved to save us”
Please join us on Sunday morning for one of our two services as well as our Christmas Eve service at 5 pm. Invite a friend and come a few minutes before the service starts to ask the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts!
Only by grace can we enter and only by grace can we stand,
Glen
