Richard de Villiers

Richard grew up on a four generations old sheep farm in South Africa and attended boarding school and university in Cape Town where he studied electrical engineering. Married to Margie in 1981, they moved to Silicon Valley where Richard pursued his career in electronics and Margie was enrolled in a pediatric residency at Stanford Children’s Hospital. Richard started his own IT company to provide system integration services and in 1992 began providing IT and business services for Margie’s pediatric practice and several other pediatricians. He helped launch the International Student Fellowship ministry at Valley Church and has served as a deacon with responsibilities in missions, benevolence and long-range planning. Richard and Margie have enjoyed being involved in their four children’s lives, faith journeys, education and sports. Over the years Richard has taught PE, coached soccer and later served as president of the Christian Athletics Association. Richard loves to extract out of God’s Word the critical elements of the gospel and share them with others and believes that the Holy Spirit at work in believers fully given to God can be used by God to change the course of history.
