Do you know what today is? The answers (yes two) that I have in mind perhaps may not be what you suspect. No today isn’t:
- A football day
- A beach day (a little windy)
- A movie day
- A sports day
- An entertainment day
- A fun day
It is the Lord’s day! It is the first day of week when the early church and God’s people gathered to worship the Giver of each and every day! I read in my quiet these words, “The Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day.” Our loving Lord set aside one day not to be used as leisure but to bring Him honor!
It was such a joy to worship with you today! We are really thrilled to begin a new series at the start of this year in the book of Philippians, “The Disciple’s Path to Glory.” We are all on a path that leads somewhere – may it be on the path that leads us to the Crucified!
I want to challenge you to read the book of Philippians out loud each day until next Sunday. It will only take you no more 15 minutes. Meditate on verses that speak to you and pray them back to our Lord.
My title is, “Who need God’s guidance?” There are lots of paths available to people today but I guarantee you that they all don’t lead to life eternal!
Answer number two in regards to the question, “Do you know what today is?”: It is the first day of the rest of your life! As someone said, “You can spend your life anyway you want but you can only spend it once.” May it be for Him!
In His solid grip and for His eternal glory,
Glen
