One for all and all for One!

Dear Soldiers,

Why did Jesus come to planet earth?  Perhaps you know several reasons? Have you thought about this one from Matthew 10:44?

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. And He said to them, but now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his cloak and buy one.”

Why did Jesus say this? Is He instructing His followers to do the same today? You will not find the kind you need at Walmart, Costco, Target, or Home Depot! I suggest you check with Amazon because they can deliver one rather quickly! I just checked out the ones for kids and adults. No, I do not want one of those for Christmas!

In my quiet time early morning I read that Peter picked a sword and cut off the ear of Malchus who was the slave of the high priest. Jesus instructed Peter to stop and then Jesus picked up the ear from the ground and attached it “in the blink of an eye!”

I am reminding you that the church of Jesus Christ has always been at “war” and will be until our Captain returns to wage war against the nations.

I want you to meditate on Eph. 4:1-6 before Sunday. Paul is writing to the church from prison because he was a “prisoner of the Lord.” Why was he in prison when he instructed the Romans to submit themselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution? Just a question! My title is “One for all and all for One” – a message on unity!

Because there is only one Lord,
Glen
