Do you have a heart for God?

Dear Disciples,

Are you and I “real” disciples of the Lord Jesus in word and deed? Do others see Jesus in us? How do you spot an authentic “Christ follower?” It is not a trivial matter!

If you were with us last Sunday we started our time in God’s Word with this verse, “David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, fell asleep, and was buried among his fathers and underwent decay.” Acts 13:36

I came across this sympathy card recently which reads, “Some people journey through life, they leave footprints – of kindness and love, courage and compassion, joy and faith. Even when they are gone, the trail they have left behind continues to inspire us.” David left us footprints!

This Sunday we examine another verse from Acts 13, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.”

How does one develop a “heart for God?” If we examine David’s life, we find that it was not automatic. David left us footprints! He put into practice spiritual disciplines that transformed from the inside out. We could learn a thing or two from him!

I hope you will join us this Sunday. This Sunday we will have an announcement about praying and inviting people to our Easter services. However, you do not have to wait until then.

Because of Jesus and His love,
Glen

P.S. On Saturday night, please remember to set your clocks ahead one hour due to daylight savings time.
